Hi, all these questions that I read where people complain about immigrants and so on. I personally disagree wtih many. Who is to say what nation is the best??? Why are people proud to be one nation and not the other, when THEY have not done anything for their country???
I have had a conversation with a teenager recently (British) who said, "oh yeah, marry this guy from Pakistan or marry this guy from India" in a sense that they are worse!!! And she said "oh yeah, I make more money than this guy from Hungary who works for 1.50 an hour". I could not believe what I was hearing!!! Even teenagers, who have achieved nothing in ther life think they are better than older people from other countries who came here in order to give a good life to their children. How does that make brits better than other people????

Comparing to Americans, they are actually superior. LOL However, they can't compare to Russians, Frenchmen, Italians of Spaniards, etc., because they are miserable that way. They want to control whole Europe, not with soldiers, but with culture, and the people from countries I've mentioned are aware they are better from British people by far. What's more, British people are REALLY UGLY! Britain sucks.

Its not a superior issue as per your comments, its being told what we can and cannot do in our OWN country.

Your look aroud the country and most sects are segregated in Manchester for example Rusholme is mostly asians, Moss side is mostly Blacks, Cheetham Hill is mostly both plus Irish.

A few have brought their children here for a good life, others are here to tell us what we should and should not do.

The only time a Brit can really get on my nerves when they keep harping on about the Germans we know they did atrocities, in some time of our lives or when man was invented we have all done some atrocities at some stage of earths life time.

The Jews keep going on as though they are the only ones to have suffered YES what they went through was inhuman, the Japs were the same.

We are in 2007 nearly 2008 and we still live by the past its gone and we should have learn by the past, but obviously have not.

The ones we should all be worried about now is not a foreigner its a religion eating its way into everyone, everwhere, how can you justify setting light to people, blowing people up

Ignorance is the unifying problem, it is the one thing that is the same between all classes, religions, and countries. People don't take time to learn just how lucky they are. Getting a superiority complex just because you happen to have been lucky enough to have been born in a certain country is stupidity plain and simple.

Don't blame all the British over the actions of the ignorant, I've known plenty of intelligent, humble Brits who wouldn't stand for that nationalist attitude of those teenagers.

OK..take away all the things the British developed/invented?discovered....including sports. Add the literature and the fact that such a tiny place managed to subdue most of the world. I do think we are justly proud. To those who say we took all the wealth from other countries...in most of those countries about one percent exploited the rest. Luckily we realised our mistakes and left the countries to rule themselves efficiently enough to drive a high percentage of their populations over here. Odd that they want to live along side we wicked Brits when they have such honest politicians at home...like those happy carefree people in Zimbabwe..

They think they are superior due to their empire and having cruel and violent control over other nations and this attitude has cemented itself in their national psyche. They use racial slurs but try to cover it up as banter or jokes. Racism is also part of this but they hide it well.

Very uneducated, ignorant and narrow minded country. Like the English language is really English. Not really. Didn't the Romans do all the building of roads, houses, schools and infrastructure.

Even some people that have achieved nothing and sit on benefits look down on foreigners just because they are British. It is ridiclous, stupid and insane.

Most societies think they are better than others. It's in the nature of things. We might think our culture is better than another, but you can almost guarantee that the members of that other culture think they are better than us. You mentioned Pakistani and Indian culture as examples. I'm sure that people of Pakistani origin look at the the decadence and yob culture in Britain and feel theirs is better; and that it cares better for the elderly. And people of Indian origin probably look at our falling educational standards, compared with their high exam success rate. etc etc. And the immigrants from Eastern Europe must wonder why on earth British people are not taking the jobs they are finding so easy to get, as a stepping stone to better things. But on the whole, we should recognise that the people who "get up and go" to better themselves are people with greater initiative and intelligence than the average back home anyway.

Please don't judge all British people by the few you've spoken to, we're not all the same believe me.

It's like saying all americans are fat and arrogent, all French and sissies or all muslims are terrorists - it's just not so!

Yes there are pleanty of people out there like the guy you've just described; some who moan and whine about their society without a single ounce of patriotism but all cultures have people like that don't they? As for the whole supiriority thing, there are endless amounts of cultures who claim the same thing (well at least their citizens do) - just ignore the idiots who think they're better and know that not all of us are like that.

I think you are generalising. Any nationality is bound to be proud of their own country and hold it closest to their heart.
This does not make them superior. Just a little patriotic and protective of their own. I don't believe anyone could really feel at home in another country and sorry to say they often get treated as second class citizens in an environment that is often hostile to them. However sometimes the reverse happens and they get more than a fair deal and are more than welcome. Please don't generalise.

Because we are. We're English, and the English are best at everything!

Sorry, you'd only get that joke if you've read Lord of the Flies.

We don't think we're better than other people, it's just our country has a huge immigrant problem throwing all us true Brits out of jobs by the immigrants who are willing to work for less than minimum wage. It just makes us a little pissed.
