they are yet another way to show the world "i am an important person,i am not poor, look - i have friends who want to talk to me etc etc etc" i believe they are functional, for safety reasons - i have a little pink prepaid tracfone which i keep in the car for if i break down,or have some other trouble. but i will never be one of those people that have it attached to their ear at every given opportunity - i think it is very rude. i also think they are waaaaay too expensive. also - cell phone companies try and rip you off at every given opportunity and need to be dealt with - that's why i go prepaid.

I use mine in place of long distance at home. Other than that it's just a tool to have along when I'm on the road. I don't feel th need to be connected 24/7 and I certainly don't need all the bells and whistles they come with these days. These people who have them stuck to their head all the time and have to talk really loud so everyone knows they are on a phone just have some sort of inferiority complex or something.

I still have no idea.
I put off getting one for over ten years. I swore I'd never have one. Ever, ever.
Theeeeeennnn, this guy I fell pretty hard for came along and kinda convinced me.....I realize it's kind of sad that that was all it took. ;P We were long distance and it helped us be closer, I guess.
I'm still not really getting the outright fascination some people have with them, though. I don't know how idiots walk around with headpieces attached to them, almost surgically. They look SO stupid.
And people that never put the phones down look equally idiotic.
I can't tell you how many times I've had people WALK INTO ME, like in stores and such, just because they were too busy messing with a phone. :/

I duno if they're special but Id be positively lost without mine!
its so great to be contactable on the go!!!!!
Its also quite comforting to know that if anything goes wrong - breakdown/accident or whatever - that help is only a call away - particularly if you're in the middle of nowhere!
xx

If you get a flat tire and you have one, you can call directly from your phone.
