Depends on what you mean. Studying in general or studying for a test. Studying for a test i read the text first then read it again but this time writing down the answers to the questions that i think might be in test. then read it again until i can answer all the questions in the chapter test or review thingy.

Math or other boring subjects take a beat get up and move around every 30 minutes of so.
Start getting frustrated get up and take a beat.
Skip problems you are having trouble with go back to them last.
History scan chapter first; second back mark all dates and important events: third go back and read chapter. Fourth write down all important events. Fifth go back over important events several times.

I learn better visually. When I have to memorize something I usually just write it over and over and when the time comes to remember it I just picture what I wrote.

THE TRICK IS TO TRULY BE INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU ARE STUDYING. WHEN YOU ARE TRULY INTERESTED THE INFO SEEMS TO JUST STICK IN YOUR MIND EASILY.
