I wish we could...It's just heart-rending to read these stories almost every day.

There is no respect with kids these days... The do gooders have in fact made things so much worse. When I was younger, we would never dare speak to people and act in ways loads of these kids do! Thye have no respect and what do you do? I mean I live in a nice area, went to the shop the other day, a group of 13 - 14 year old lads, standing round...one of them came up behind me and tried to lift my skirt up....WTF? and what could I do? If I turn round and slap him...I get done for it? Things have gone way, way to far.... we need to get back down to basic's, support the family and bring back respect... You know give up your seat for the old dear that kind of thing?

How did an 11 year old get a hold of a gun in the first place?? Parents should be held responsible for their kids actions.

tougher parental/guardian control, hate to sound oldy worldish but mum has always stressed that 'in my day there wasnt any bad behaviour amongst the community as strict controls were enforced in schools etc. theyre not aloud to touch them now for fear of getting done-pathetic! Gun licensing should be made that only professional people are able to use them in appropriate places-but that wont happen- therell always be deaths in our society

Change the laws so that they are harder on youths. Put them in prison no matter what age for offences and let them do time with the adults. That should put them off as although they may act hard I think that they all realise being locked up with a group of adults may change their way of thinking.

We need to get them to value education and the rewards that it can bring, rather than glorify gangsta culture as seen everywhere on TV (Eastenders etc). We need to show that that we care what happens in their lives and they can be valuable members of society if they are prepared to work hard. It seems to me that a lot of people these days want everything on a plate, and are not prepared to work for it.

We're already doing what we can with the gun laws we have, but there are always some that will slip through the net.

We could stop gun production but the they would only get them on the black market from overseas. It's impossible.

i think a simple answer would be to ban rap music i dont want to sound like some fanatical nutcase but the lyrics of those tunes promote violence. or alternatively bring back capital punishment. to blazes with human rights they lost those when they shot someone
