i really need to know the most common places to find, and not buy, flint from an easily accessible place.

We've also found some ourselves in Franklin NC while digging for sapphires and rubies.

check the history of your area, if there were Indians settled some where there is flint, flint is usually Grey or dark colored stone, some what smooth to the touch, carry a small steel rod or pc of metal with you, if you think it looks like flint ,strike it against the steel, if it sparks it,s flint, find all kinds of it here in TN,

Hard stone can be red, white, black, brown....find all kinds of it in Kentucky! Good Luck!
