A case of good friends that fell in love - drama in and out, challenges, life situations occured, and rumors/assumptions, people's ideas are getting the best of us - the last we spoke, we misunderstood each other and we haven't talked in a month. I want to clarify things and reassure him and hope things are okay

how can i do this?
is email too impersonal?
is a letter the right thing or too girlie?

suggestions please?

he's the "shy" type and when it comes to the serious stuff it's hard for him to confront me, he doesn't really like confrontation...last time he TEXTED me so i'm trying to make it so it's good for both of us to really talk and not just get mad

i would feel that a letter would allow you to get your words across best but i would say you should deliver it face to face with him.
i have the occasional trouble with my Fiance that our communication styles sometimes lead to misunderstanding. thats when i sit down and write out what i mean in the clearest way possible then hand it to him to read. that way i know he knows what i feel about this and it doesnt give him the pressure of a need for instant return of communication. it works for us but it may not for you i just figure i'd mention it.

Writing him whether it is a email or letter, is the best way of communicating how you feel. It's a great way of putting the ball in his court and it gives you a chance to air out what you are feeling to.

face to face is the only way. Call him and go do something that you can talk while you're busy. Email or Letter is too cheesy, pathetic, girlie, one-sided.

Talk to him face to face. Then there won't be room for any misunderstandings and if there be, you can explain politely. Your facial expressions would help too. Good luck!

talk face to face but if you feel that he's starting to get mad back off your only going to make it worse you wont be able to get much out of him then

yes, send an email, he may be thinking the same thing! If he isn't then you can at least know that you tried and just move on.

Ask him to meet you for coffee or something to talk. Tell him that you would like to regain the friendship that you had with him.
