I have no medical insurance of any kind and I know it is stupid of me to not get this taken care of, I have two children who depend on me and I know something is wrong, I have grown used to the pain, kind of like the pains of a menstrual period...but a lot worse, and only on the one side, my mother had breast cancer and I smoke too, although I am trying to kick the nasty habit...what does one do without medical coverage?

make an appointment at your local health department. and get a paps. tell them about ur pain. they go by ur income when they charge u. u could have a cyst on your ovary. i have one. when ur getting ready to start it hurts more and swells up. and shrinks back down after ur period. could be nothing to worry about. but have it checked out to be safe

i live in australia so do not understand your health system but if t.v is anything to go by free clinics exist. it sounds like it may be a cyst, but i am only speaking from experience i am not a Dr. i have had heaps and last year i was diagnosed with one and did not go back for a check up and it has developed into a 20cm tumor which i have to have operated on next week! and if it has become malignant and spread i have to have a full hysterectomy and as yet i have no children!! go and get checked! it is probably something minor.
gosh sell your computer if youy have to coz as you said you have children depending on you and give up smoking for healths sake-yours and theirs. you will also save money. and i do not know but maybe if you give up smoking and cut out all junk food from your diets-and i am not saying that badly as i eat it too we all seem to but you would be amazed how the cost of it adds up and then maybe that would be a good start to getting insurance and you would only have to find a little extra each month. it sux that in a country as rich as yours that the government does not look after the health of its people. our government suz too but i am glad we can get medical attention, yes sometimes we have to wait ages to get into hospital but eventually we do most of the time. i hope that you can see a Dr and i hope that it is something really minor. best wishes.

Check to see if there are free clinics around your area. You definitely should see a doctor since it could be something serious. Early detection of anything can make a big difference in the treatment and outcome. Good Luck!

Try checking with the city health dept to see if they offer a free women's health clinic. If not, check to see if there is a Medical School close by that can be of help to you.

you need to check with your state health department or find out if your state has insurance that you could be covered by. you need to be seen by a doctor because this could be something along the lines of an ovarian cyst. or go to your local health clinic.
