6 has to multiply each item within the brackets:-
6 (3r + 4s) = 18 r + 24 s

The 6 is distributed to each thing inside the parentheses. That is multiply it by each one so
6(3r+4s) becomes 6(3r) + 6(4s) = 18r +24s

6(3r+4s)
(6*3r)+(6*4s)
18r+24s
in simple words 6 is distributed between the two terms in the brackets
so when you open the brackets 6 gets multiplied by each of the terms and then summed togther just as the terms were inside the brackets

6(3r+4)=18r+24s Multiply 6 times every term in the parenthesis. Collect like terms.

u need to distribute 6 over 3r and 4s.
= 6*3r + 6*4s
= 18r + 24s

6*3r + 6*4s = 18r+24s

this is simple - 6gets distributed to both the terms within the brackets i.e. we have:
6(3r+4s) = 6*3r + 6*4s = 18r + 24s

Actually in mathematical terms, here "Multiplication is distributive over Addition". That's it. :-)
