Democracy is the best experience of modern human race. But still have some deficiency. In free USA election G. bush and in free Palestine election Hamas and in perfectly free France election sarkosy and etc, can be easily elected by their own people. Actually in recent years, conservatives have been more successful. One reason can be old people that are mostly influenced by Medias that are directed by powerful conservatives. Maybe if the election was only on youth, they wouldn’t be elected. But we know it is generally is not a wisely solution not to let old people participate in elections! So how can we reach real and optimum result of democracy?

Democracy is might-makes-right -- pure mob (majority) rule.

And as with all things, decisions are made by those who show up -- most of the people showing up are the ones who want to control others and impose their beliefs on others -- so, they get their way.

While it's not necessarily true that the media is controlled by powerful conservatives (i.e. Sulzberger's NY Times), I would say that people are more likely to get involved when they feel that they have a stake in the outcome of an election.

Older people feel more affected by the process because they generally have more to gain or lose depending on who wins a given election. The have more savings in the stock market, they use government programs (like social security, medicare, etc) more, and they have developed firm beliefs about issues from a lifetime of experience. This will probably never change.

Generally speaking older people are wiser than younger ones. I don't necessarily think that everyone voting is the best thing for a democracy. If what you call the "optimum result of a democracy" is total participation, you may want to be careful of what you wish for. That's why we don't force everyone who is eligible to vote.

there is an uncomplicated confusion of definition examined here. the u . s . isn't technically a democracy (the place all electorate of criminal age vote on each and each concern), it incredibly is a republic. we go with human beings to represent us on subject concerns. it incredibly is our own doing as quickly as we go with those human beings for characteristics that have no longer something to do with the interest for which we are electing them. Elections have became into recognition and image contests. Campaigns ought to be considered as interest interviews. no longer something extra, no longer something much less. What journey do they create to the table for the particular place of work, are they working for a legislative or administrative place? verify the references, and backers. it incredibly is the place the loyalty will lie. verify the song checklist. Do they easily have a historical past of balloting as they talk, or do they say one factor and do yet another? Do they shield their place with conventional rhetoric that places down the different guy, or have they have been given and logically help a plan? maximum of electorate are blind to the incredibly interest description for the place of work in question. There, lies a huge area of the subject. some possible make great speeches (exceptionally with adequate funds to hire the perfect writers) yet we aren't electing them to make speeches, are we? And we incredibly should not be electing speech writers. If electorate did their homework, we'ld have a methods fewer consumer criminals in place of work. the area is our own doing. beware of the candidate who's constantly telling you what you prefer to take heed to, all that man or woman needs from you is your vote.

There is nothing wrong with democracy, it is the best way to have a fair and unbiased elected form of government. The problem with it here in America, is that individual votes are not counted because of the electoral college. I agree with you in that our voting system is biased, the only way to change that is to talk to you local people and demand a popular vote by state and get rid of your states' electoral college.
