Humans like power.
And the simplest way to get power is to have money and control over other people. Politics is good for both.

Governments don't fight it.
I like China and Vietnam's solution to corruption. Execution.
I really think corrupt politicians in all countries should be caught tried then executed. The US needs this.
Remember the corrupt Chinese official who just six months ago was caught taking money to let low quality drugs go through to the market including the US market? He's dead. just last month China executed him.
I don't agree on execution in a lot of cases but when it comes to corrupt politicians and gov't officials, I say do it.
Executing them makes them think twice.
Corruption does cause the deaths of citizens so those who are corrupt should face the death penalty.

I think, one of the major reason is because of the "Personal Interest" of a corrupt person.

It's greed..
People want something more than what they have that's why they're corrupt. They never get satisfied with what they have..
