Several months ago I noticed my water pressure dropped, But thought I was imagining things. Then when I was watering my lawn my neighbor came out to water hers, and as soon as she turned hers on, my water pressure dropped. Now my water pressure has dropped some more and I am curious as to what could be causing this and some ways to figure out what the issue is. Thanks in advance for any advice. By the way I have city water, if this matters.

Okay this is strange, but my water pressure is back now. And now I have a new issue. The water is yellow? Since the pressure is back does this mean it has nothing to do with my house. And should I refrain from giving my dog tap water until for a few days? Thanks for all advice.

perhaps the city is flushing the lines. They did this recently in the area I work and quite a few people have been compaining there water is a yellowish tint. I would call the city water department and ask them.

You could have a leak under your house or a busted pipe in the ground. Have you noticed any moist spots that seem to stay that way?
The next question is how old is your house? Calcium build up in the pipes can block the flow and lower the pressure.
Don't know if these suggestions will help but they are some where to start. Wish you all the best!

If your getting water from a tower in town, then they were probably cleaning the tank for maintenance, the water should clear in a day or two. If it's a city water, they may have been clearing the hydrants, this will do the same thing. I wouldn't worry.

Could be low city water pressure. Call your city water works and ask them. When our water levels here get low our water pressure drops.
