You insert it as far as it will comfortably go. Trust me, it won't get lost in there, and if you let it hang out, it could cause leakage or push out when you don't want it to.

How To Insert Tampon

Are you using your finger or an applicator?

If finger, you should insert as far as your finger can push it.

The upper part of your vagina is les sensetive than the opening, so once fully inserted you should barely be able to tell it is there.

Sometimes it is easier when starting to use a little lubricant like KY jelly on the tip.

it will stop on its own. Once you feel resistance, stop pushing and complete the application. if that doesnt work then try a different brand. All tampons are not the same. And this may sound really nasty but sometimes u have to do some manual adjustments...if u know what I mean....

Okay, I'm not a girl bur my wife tried them. There is usually a ring or mark on the applicator. Put your thumb and middle finger on that mark, and your pointer finger on the end insert til your fingers touch your stuff then push the plunger thingy that should be the correct depth.
D@mmit now I'm blushing!

the key is to be relaxed, then since you are new at this i suggest standing up and hiking one leg up on a chair or something. then just um... stick it up there - you should stick it in just far enough to where only the string sticks out (and you dont see any part of the tampon) , but dont worry about getting it too deep because there is no where for it to go

Also make sure you use the smallest size tampon, until you get used to inserting and wearing them. It does take some time to get the hang-of-it.

You would have inserted deeper in your vagina, I think, that would be better slowly until it would disappear, only the thread would be seen.

You shouldn't be able to feel it at all. Put it in as deeply as you can comfortably. Best wishes!
