I am not saying all arabs do, but it seems a lot are very violent and abusive toward their wives, why is that?
My girlfriends ex-husband was an arab. He would verabally abuse her and threaten to beat her up. He told her he broke his sisters jaw and the same would happen to her if she didn't keep quiet and let him fool around with all the women he wanted to. She was scared to death to divorce the guy.

My wife wanted me to answer this for her since I have spent time in 3 Arab countries.
Arab men think of women as property not as their equal. They feel that they can treat them the same as they would an animal. You have to remember that it is a male run society over there so most men are brought up believing they are superior in every way. It is not right nor should anyone condone this type of thinking but that is the simple truth of the matter.
P.S. Xtasy....their religion forbids them to do a lot of things like having sex with little boys and killing but that doesn't stop them from doing that either.... go over there and see for yourself.

Girl, all ethnicity have men that beat their wives, view them as property and a piece of garbage. It because all these men were raised in a household that did not respect women.

Others are right. Maybe it's because of their culture, that men are superior than women and women for them are only to serve men. But come to think of it. Isn't it abuse and violence towards women happen anywhere in the world? Be it from the first world countries to the thirld world????

There are plently of white, asian, hispanic guys do the same.
It's cultural not religious the Koran does not condone abusing women.
My question is: Why are men such douche bags that they have to go and beat up women?

Most serial killers who kill and rape women are the Europeans, not Arabs.

Violence against women is widespread around the world. I'm sure everyone knows at least one woman who has been smacked around, and to be sure they are not all arab.

Islamis the only relegion in the world, where the man has to pay alimony to the woman for marriage on which he has no rights. Women were allowed to divorce their husbands in Islam even before christians ever knew what divorce really was.
