(I know, I do not believe they ARE here) but...................
why would they show up,
mostly in the US, (but still reported world wide)

considering they need advanced intelligence and power to travel light years to arrive at earth.

why wouldn't they don't interact with the general public ( besides one on one )

and how could military power overcome such technology and keep it hidden so successfully, with out them over powering us?

If alien life was superior in intelligence, they definitely would find ways to overcome us without the use of force and with us not knowing it. Military cannot attack if they see no threat right?

Personally, if I was an advanced life form with superior intelligence, I'd stay the hell away from Earth. I consider human beings insane and I am part of this race.

However I have theories on alien life here. I am not a believer, more like an what if type of guy. Ever noticed an aductee turns out to be someone that is not the smartest in the world? If I were to abduct someone and not want to be found out, I'd abduct someone who would not be believed any ways. That is a sign of intelligence right there if you ask me.

Put yourself in the place of an alien species visiting Earth. You'd see a species that seems incapable of coexisting with either its environment or other members of its species. I don't think it would be a great idea to allow such a violent species as homo sapiens access to technology and energy sources capable of powering interstellar travel.

Secondly, what makes you think the military has "overcome" alien technology? From all of the accounts that I'm familiar with, the military just doesn't have the means to deal with the kind of performance characteristics exhibitied by alleged UFOs. If the aliens were hostile they would have taken over already. I believe the US government, which let us not forget has been the world's dominant power since WWII, knows that the aliens are largely benign.

People in power are much more likely to be interested in acquiring alien technology. Just as the manhattan project was classified to the highest possible levels of secrecy, so would the alleged technology of an extraterrestrial species thousands of years more advanced than our own. Such technology would make whoever possessed it on Earth extremely powerful.

As an aside, it should be noted that there have several well-corroborated and official accounts of UFOs near nuclear missile silos, bases and even missiles themselves. These accounts serve as circumstantial evidence that our nuclear capabilities are of prime concern to alleged aliens.

I firmly believe there are aliens on earth but they are not on the land - they are in the sea -- the part that covers 75% of the earth

If aliens came thosands or even miilions of years ago and settled here what form would they have evolved into ??

Who knows if they haven't?! (interacted) People that say they have had contact are called crazy, and some governments deny it is even possible. Why would an advanced intelligence want to overpower us?

Being advanced, Why do you think they would want to conquer us or interfere with our development? You are thinking 2 dimensional. An advanced race would be not only technologically ahead, but smarter, and an advanced race to me would not want to harm a primitive race but enhance.

So let me ask you.............How did we go from trains to jets in less than a hundred years? 6000 years of recorded history. and within a hundred years..........communication, travel, and medical advancement beyond 19th century thought?

19th century thought gave way to 20th century imagination, but 5 thousands years had already passed..............why did we not get here sooner? You could point to Da Vinci, Gallileo, even Nostradamus, but human development advanced significantly within a hundred years.

So you tell me?

If they are advanced enough to travel so far, we would not, with our far inferior brains, be able to understand their reasonings. There could be a very good reason for them only interacting one on one. My favorite is that they pick out the inividuals on earth who are most like them, and do experiments to see if there is any hope for the human race. Another one is that they are turning people into sleeper agents-you know, where, at the push of a button, ordinary people turn into homicidal maniacs. Sort of like a zombie army, only more secretive.
Also, the only reason they would remain secret would have nothing to do with pathetic governments. It would be completely because of them. And anyways, why would they want to reveal themselves to an inferior race who... wait for it... actually CHOSE to have someone with less-than-average (for even us) to represent them? And then had the same person keep representing them?
Oooh, there's food for thought.

Note: Not that I believe in this crap either. I'm just saying.
