I know for a fact the WoW (World of Warcraft) has 8 Millions People that play.

GW has sold 4 million accounts. Not sure how many of those are active playing account though.
Ditto for WoW. They've sold 8 million accounts. How many of those are active?

I hear 4 million copies have been sold. Most own one or two chapters. Quite a few own all three chapters. This may be less than WoW, however, the Guild Wars community is much nicer and less egotistical than WoW. Once you reach level 20, you're just like everybody else who has reached level 20. People are dying for you to join their guilds and many of the players are nice and help out new players.

4 million copies have been sold of all three campaigns combined, but several can be on one account. Arenanet has not released information on how many accounts there are.
