Well, there's no such thing as "tough love" though. Before marriage, it's called love. After marriage, it's called commitment. Marriage is for a life time and for it to really become stable, understandings of each other's characters will pave the way for a smooth ride.

Yes, especially in marriage you might encounter stages where it becomes though love and you know if you fight it will last. You can't be just in love for ever.
