My moral compass doesnt necessarily show the right way, it often shows where i've been rather than where i'm going(or supposed to go).. Life is replete of unpredictability and indefinite possibilities. my heart, mind, soul, instinct, conscience, etc play their different roles, and none of them can independently direct my path of choice. i reckon i need other essntials along my journey- enough nourishment(food and water, physically and philosophically speaking), a tent(for security), light(when in darkness) and many others..
Using a moral compass doesnt guarantee that you wont make wrong turns and make any mistakes, but it is human instinct to get up and move on again everytime we stumble.
Some people even look up to the heavens(stars) for navigation, some follow other people's footsteps(hoping to get an insight out of their experiences).. but We often learn more through our mistakes than others examples...
but if you'd insist we'd need a moral compass to keep us on the right track, our magnetic north shouldnt be exlusively one of what you mentioned. sometimes we have to follow our heart, sometimes our mind, sometimes our plain instinct, sometimes our spirit, sometimes even other people's advice.. and even sometimes, our Faith for the unseen or the unproven. Any other way, it's our individual journey. Just as long as we dont lose humanity to help one another through all the hardships and success, we wil all go a long way...
Never leave anyone behind.. We can never ever make it on our own.

I agree with phil856...
All depends on My heart and my soul!:)
Not always my moral compass points the right direction, it does only when I listen to what my heart says, follow it!:)
Sometimes, my moral compass also points me to the wrong direction...., that when my mind mis leads me, to some other thought!:)
So, as you said, the magnetic North of my moral compass from the following is my HEART and my SOUL!:)
Have a great day:)

soul - justice and peace on Earth
heart - love and patience, art and music, forgiveness and solace
mind - science and mathematics
religion - music of the spheres, intuition, the great pipeline
I think that religion might be pointing straight up out of the center of the compass, rather than northwards.
There should be another center for dancing, playing and the creativity of children. You could call it "your inner child".

My soul, heart and mind direct me in the right direction. Actually, it is a feeling of love and satisfaction after my action or deed when I realise that I am in right direction morally.

I have to trust my instincts, my Truth sense. I can't base it on others opinions too often, there are as many opinions as there are people. I just need to check my motives & my own internal guide. Sometimes I am too emotional & like everyone else I have the capacity for denial & self deception, but most of the time it is my best guide.

As long as your moral compass is centered on the golden rule, It will always point the right way.

I believe that others have the right to live. As long as I don't comprimise that right directly, I am comfortable with my moral compass.

I try to live my life according to one basic belief:
Just because I do not or cannot subscribe to your view of the world does not mean that I don't accept its validity for you.
This gives me some understanding of other people that allows me to continue on my chosen path and allows them to continue on theirs. At the end of the day, all any of us can do is follow our path in life, wherever that path leads us.
