Your children need you and you owe it to yourself to stop that nasty smoking. I am not sure what you have told the plastic surgeon but I would hope that you wouldn't get all this surgery done to your body while you are a heavy smoker. Smoking decreases your circulation and surgery is just dangerous at any risk with the risk of bleeding to death or blood clots, infection. With you smoking right up till your surgery date, I would have to ask you? Do you wanna die? Of course no one can say for sure if you will have any problems or not. But to be on the safe side why not be in good shape when you go under the knife. If this was an imergency then I might could understand but this is plastic surgery and this is not nessacery surgery. While you might feel like it is and I agree a women always wants to look pretty. But also a women or a man has got to be reasonable. You know you could put the surgery off since there is no emergercy and stop the smoking, wait some time for your body to be stronger and then have plastic surgery. Don't have so many things done all at once also. Do one thing at a time. Those Doctors will take the money if you are willing to get cut on by them. Be very careful. I bet your pretty without plastic surgery also. I know that while this is important to you, it is also important to be around to raise your children because every child loves thier Mom. I hope this helps you and God Bless you!

Apparently you don't want the surgery badly enough. No reputable surgeon will do major elective surgery on you if you are a smoker! You have a much higher risk of infection and other complications because your oxygen saturation level is probably not high enough for your body to heal quickly. You'll be much happier if you quit before surgery. But you MUST let your doctor know, no matter how much you would like to have your surgery as planned. It's not worth the higher risk to continue smoking.

You are going about things complete wrong.
You are too young to be thinking about doing all that stuff to your body. You have 3 kids. So, you got yourself a little out of shape? Your body is young. Your body will go back to what it was if you'll take the time to take care of it. Once you start having surgeries and cutting and fixing things you will really make a mess of your body.
You are not doing anything right for your body or your health. You just want the easy way out. You have more than one problem. You just want to wake up from surgery all new and perfect looking. Have you thought about the pain you are going to be in? It will take a lot of recovery getting over all of that surgery. You won't want anybody to touch you because you will hurt so much.
You need to stop smoking for one thing. Clean that stuff out of your system. Eat a decent diet of all of the food groups, do some real exercise. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day. You will feel like a human being again. Most of those surgeries have very uncomfortable side effects and some don't even come out like you wanted them to. You will feel rotten for a long time after the surgery.
Cancel the surgery until you have given yourself time to try to fix your body for yourself. You can do it. You may need somebody to help you take care of your children while you take care of yourself. Get someone who will be good with your children while you go to a gym or etc. You will need some time for yourself. You will be a happy mother and wife. You will love yourself if you just do what you know you need to do. The hardest part is GETTING STARTED.
Of course the plastic surgeon wants to do the surgery; so he can buy a new boat or a new house.
Please do the right thing. You won't regret it.

Hi Nina,
I have never seen such a bunch of cruel, shallow, judgmental people as I have on this thread.
You DO need to stop smoking before you have this surgery. Smoking will reduce your chances of a good recovery. I know it's horribly hard to quit, but please find a way. Then reschedule your surgery when you're healthy and smoke-free.
You're obviously concerned about your appearance, and let me tell you, nothing is worse for your appearance than smoking long-term!! I'm talking about yellowy, papery, wrinkly, saggy skin with no "bounce". And that's just what you will look like on the OUTSIDE...so please quit.
Good luck and best wishes!!

Nina,
Cancel the surgery. Falsely making your body LOOK healthy while not changing on the inside will not make you feel better - it might even leave you depressed. Don't just look better - BE better. Start caring about yourself and those three kids enough to stop smoking, start eating right and start exercising - you'll get a boost of energy from it and feel better about yourself when you know that YOU are the cause of getting your old (young) shape back.
Good luck getting healthy. Not just healthy looking.

Smoking before going under the knife is extremely dangerous and a lot of doctors won't perform the operation on a smoker. You need to quit smoking at LEAST 2 weeks in advance and even then it's still risky.

Why are you going through all of this? This is rather shallow of you. Start excersizing and quit smoking, before you die of cancer. Surgery is the wrong way to go, trust me people look down at you at the grocery store, the only thing you get is looks by a bunch of pigs or men!! That's not setting a good example for your kids, and eating healthy, NOT - smoking will make you stop until you see someone close to you die.

Judgemental crowd, huh? I am going in for my consultation on Monday for breast augmentation and I smoke too. But I am going to get the boobs , so I gotta do what I gotta do...Easier said than done!!!!! I was reading some of the comments on shallowness, selfishness, blah, blah, blah on cosmetic surgery. I'll bet the ones out there who judge don't miss a botox session, getting their nails done, hair dyed, sports car detailed, faced waxed,etc... You go girl! I raised 3 kids too! I have my own small business, don't cheat on my taxes or husband, pray and thank God daily, give money to charities, and always try to help someone in trouble. So, dammit, I'm gettin' titties! Yea!

Man, Nina, these people are some judgy judgemental Judys. I support your choice to get a "mommy makeover" if you want one, and these people need to calm down! But, Sweety, you do need to reschedule and quit smoking for longer than 2 days. It's because it can affect your circulation, and healing will take longer, and scarring will be worse.

A lot of surgeons wont operate on a smoker, so I guess the question before you is what is more important, the improvements in your body or the smoking?
