Well. The Yankees have a far better offense but the Red Sox have far better pitching and defense and the old saying is that pitching and defense wins championships.

So I say the Red Sox win 2 of 3

Right now the Red Sox lead the Yankees by 5 with 35 to go. The Yankees play the Tigers and the Red Sox play the White Sox this weekend. Let's assume that they both take 2 out of 3. The Yankees have to sweep the Red Sox to have a realistic shot at the AL East. Taking 2 out of 3 only moves the Yankees to 4 games out with 29 to go. Could it happen? Yes. Is it likely? I hope not. Realistically, the big series for the Yankees will occur in the first week of September when the Mariners are in New York. That could actually decide the Wild Card.

Im thinking AP46, A good game between Clemens and Beckett, which the Yankees could win, and im not to positive about Schilling vs Wang, Wang has been shaky as of late, but perhaps he can bounce back after a good start against Detroit.

The only one that the Yankees have an edge in my opinion is game one...Yankees will not sweep...I could see Yankees taking two since they are at home but I think the Red Sox will take two with better pitching. Neither team will sweep though.

The Yankees have a better chance of winning. They'll take 2 out 3 or they'll sweep.

I think the yankees will win the series and possibly even sweep. Their offense is better and these three pitchers that you just mentioned have been really hot lately. With the hot rotation and the killer offense, I think Boston is done for.

Pettitte
Beckett
Wang

That being said, it's all up to the bullpens. This series can go either way...but I don't see either team sweeping
