i understand
its almost like envy
my best friend doesn't have the
neatest hannwriting on the shelf but she is an amazing
drawer.....and i envy her drawing capabilities
and i find my self drawing more and more for the
practice.....i look at the picture for a very long time
studying the lines and then i find my self drawing
and each time i draw i get better and better
so my best advice is too concentrate on what your
drawing and have confidence in your self
and keep on practicing.....and with time you'll be drawing
just as well as your sister is
good luck

and keep on drawing

Think about how the object your drawing was assembled. Arms go in sockets, how a board of wood was nailed to hold others up, what muscles move to smile, how the shoelace keeps the shoe from falling off...
Don't think of objects of being flat.
Can't you draw more than a stick figure? Like a circle, which can become a ball, or added on to to make a head.
Try drawing stick figures with shoulders and ears, then build off of them. But first, get those core action lines right.
A painter I know told me to draw quickly, just getting the essence of the object. That makes for better hand-eye coordination. (I usually take time to draw detailed things)
Hope I helped. :)
Oh, and draw lightly first. And, remember porportions! (In people- a person's foot is the same length of their arm, elbow to wrist. A person's ear is usually extended from the middle of their eyebrow to above the tip of the nose. And so on)

Here's how you become a better drawer, or an artist, start off simply by tracing, trace everything all of the details, everything in and out. Then you'll get that anything, anything is never a straight line, if you're going to be a realistic artist that is. After that do what you're sister is doing as of now. After that mix that in with your own style, start drawing all on you're own and you'll get it.

If you're really serious & wanna get better, buy several "how to draw", etc. books,-start a "collection" of them, carry a bag with your art books, paper & pencils, etc. or a "fanny-pack" with a pad of paper & supplies so you can draw & practice where ever you go, draw everyday or whenever you get the time. If you draw your favorite things so many times, you'll be able to draw them by memory (I still use pictures to draw or I'll use a picture for "ideas" & create my own pictures-that's the fun of drawing. (my favorite place to do my art is in restaurants/cafe's/etc. cause then people notice you & your art & you get offers to do art & can sell art often. -(good luck)

Just keep practicing. Try looking at only part of the picture upside down and drawing only what you see.
