It is really two separate thoughts put together in one sentence. Let me ask, was it an instruction given to you, as in guidance of what you should do in your English studies?

"Over prepare" essentially means to prepare adequately and then prepare some more!!! I had a high school track coach that said, "You can never over-prepare! (usually right before he would add: "OK, now let's do it again!") In job interviews, you want to over prepare so you know your subject (about yourself of course, as well as about the company you are seeking a job with) and that way you'll be ready for anything that may be asked & sound natural in your response. In studying English, look through all the materials they have given you or requested you to buy, plus check the references cited because they may contain that extra bit of information that will give you the missing piece of the puzzle to "fully" prepare you and aid in your comprehension.

"Then go with the flow" is a phrase used in modern English to help convey meaning to you & like water, help you envision going down a river in a canoe. Don't try to paddle upstream -- it's much too hard and you won't get very far with even your best effort. If you go with the flow, you can expend minimal effort and still enjoy the sights along the journey downstream. For your benefit, and to apply this phrase to your English studies: simply do what feels best, or perhaps feels easiest, or do what just comes natural to you.

Best of luck to you!!!

Over prepare- investigate the subject as much as you can, imagine multiple possibilities and possible solutions.

Go with the flow- having the information you obtained you will be in a good position to deal with any possible variable or circumstance.

It means get ready for something, foresee all the things that could conceivably happen--but then just go along with the crowd and do what they do. Let things just naturally happen, regardless of what you were prepared to do.

Over prepare means to be ready for anything that may come your way and when it happens, alter what you are going to do and react as to what is happening

It means, always be better prepared than those around you. If you are equipt, you can just follow the crowd and be able to use your knowledge when needed.

Learn as much as you can about the subject, think up different ways things might work out, but don't get attached to any particular outcome. Use your (informed) intuition to guide you.
