I have an odd sleeping pattern during the summer. Since I'm 17, I stay up late until 5 or 6 AM, then wake up the next day at 3, eat, then hang out with friends or something, come back inside, get online then for the remainder of the night.

My mom complains and says its bad for me though, I usually always gets at least 6 hours of sleep. Too much sleep is bad too, I'm guessing?

Yes & No. Sleep DEPRIVATION does increase blood pressure, but sleeping a normal 8 hours should be okay. It doesn't matter what time you sleep, just make sure you do get 7 or 8 hrs. of sleep.
edit: 6 hours of sleep is okay, but for people your age you should be getting more like 8 hrs. of sleep a night. Too much sleep is 10 hours or over. & too much sleep does not affect blood pressure either.

I would imagine your mom is more concerned what is going to happen to you when it is time to get back in school....you are still in school, right? If you are between HS and college then you need to be getting ready for college and I can assure you that they don't offer classes at 2am or midnight or any of that. Now if you just need to be finding a job and plan to work the night shift then you are all set to go...at 17 you are in no danger of messing up your BP or any of that; you are just making your future needs in the day time world a little harder to attain.

Sleeping outside the dusk-to-dawn timeframe can increase stress and upset your circadian rhythms.

This can affect you with weight gain, blood pressure, and susceptibility to infection.

You might want to cut your online time down, and sleep at night so that you can get your body on a sustainable schedule.
