Credit repair is a complete rip off. Credit counseling is onlyh part rip off. They both charge you fees to do what you can do yourself.
Are the bad debts on your credit report your debts? If no, you dispute the entries with the credit bureau. If they are yours, contact the creditor and negotiate a settlement. Work on one at a time till you get them all paid off.
