my ex husband is a chef and he did it at home. He would let the lobster race (pretend races) then he would stick them in the pot of boiling water, always stick them in head first or they do scream. Personally I would never do it as I am not a "sea food person" i eat Tuna but that is as far as it goes. If I liked lobster I would do it again it was easy enough and he enjoyed it. and a lot cheaper that restaurants. You should try it if you like lobster. make sure you have the tools to crack the shell and the little seafood forks. or a hand held nut cracker works well. They do have actually lobster tools you can probably get at " bed bath and beyond" or at" the Rolling Pin" of maybe at" Pier One"

No and I don't think I could ever do that. I can't even imagine what that must feel like. Poor thing has no say so. I think it's cruel. It's probably why I don't eat lobster. But I'm sure that's the same with fishing. When you catch a fish, people throw it in a cooler filled with ice to die a slow death.
