I have never heard of spurce trees, but Spruce trees grow in on mountains on most of the continents: North America, Europe, and Asia.

Red spruce grows well in New Hampshire (cold climate, rocky soil).

Lots of SPRUCE trees grow here in Manitoba (Canada).
