how do you bring up browsing history on computer?

If using MS Internet Explorer:
Tools>Internet Options>Under Browsing History click Settings>click View Files

I'm not on my Vista machine but I think it's IE 7 and when the browser is open, hit: ALT-C then there is a History button at the top of the side pane that opens. Try that.

Or, you can click on the single gold star to the far left of the open IE 7 browser window which opens the Favorites pane as well.
