As with all legal questions, the answer depends on the jurisdiction (country and state/province).

In the US, no state currently has suicide as a crime. Two states have 50+ year-old court cases making it a common law offense, based (in both cases) solely on religious grounds -- neither of those would be enforceable for multiple reasons.

Attempted suicide is illegal in a few states -- but rarely carries prison sentence. Those few who which impose punishment mandate counseling.

Assisting someone else to commit suicide is illegal in all states -- some consider it a variant of attempted murder, some list it as a separate crime.

Attempted Suicide is. Suicide would be illegal too but there is no way to prosecute someone who is dead.

Why is this a blonde question? Do you think that blondes wouldn't get it? Funny. You must not get it...Not all blondes are dumb.

Attempted suicide is illegal (and stupid!). It costs money to rescue people from failed suicide attempts. Suicide is a liability on tax payers. I do not know if doctor assisted suicide is illegal or not.

There ARE laws against suicide on the books, along with separate laws for attempted suicide. The the ONLY law no one can be convicted for committing.

Yes it is. But, its kind of dumb for it to be, because its not like the person that killed them self could actually be arrested and taken to jail. HELLO their dead. But if they try, and don't succeed, then maybe they could be. Anyways, its stupid.

Not to worry if it is successful. If failed, there could be legal consequences. Some States will charge you with drug abuse if pills were used.
