I can get small ones at petsmart that are about 3" long. Are there any places that sell larger ones? I searched aquabid with no luck.
thanks

Most local shops end up taking larger fish in on trade from people from time to time and asking one to look for a large ID shark would probably be your best bet. Since ID sharks get really huge and take hundreds of gallons to maintain properly, it's only very, very few people that can care for them so you should get one before too long.

Some pet stores in larger cities that deal mostly with fish will have some larger than the average Pets Smart or PetCo.
Did you know that those small ones faint by the time you get home with them. They will often faint when you put them in a new tank. They will sink right to the bottom, belly-up and lay there for 10 to 20 minutes, then get up and swim away! Many people think they are dead when they do that and flush them!

befor u discover one... make confident u reasearch abt the species... optimistically u have accomplished tht jus a observe of warning they attain arnd 4 feet in length interior the wild and oly arnd 2 feet in aquaria (usual), this explains the care and length required ... they are relatively shy fish... they'll initiate ramming there head on the glasses if something unusual occurs , surprising lighting fixtures, strangers tapping the aquarium, bypass fee version and particularly some different issues... whilst ramming they injure there head and particularly some the time die new in lots of aqyariums have confidence me particularly some the time that's extremely confusing for them to swap and definite they do no longer look to be certainly a shark, they are called so through thier dorsal fin resemblance to tht of a shark... they belong to catfish family individuals

I agree with MM on this one. Pet stores that take in fish might have one or know someone who wants to get rid of one. I have pictures of irridescent sharks that are 4-5 feet long. You will eventually want a heated pond for them.

what sized are u looking for? they will end up at 4 feet in length and i hope you have a massive tank for one.

Try looking into local petstores, as they seem to have a wider selection than chainstores, but the issues is it will be expensive.
