Okey, I have a 95 eclipse GS. The only problem it has is when I completely stop and then try to accelerate. The RPM goes really high but then speed just passed 10mph. Also when I am doing like 40mph and like the road is going up by a little bit, I hit the gas but only the RPM responds. No speed. The problem is that when going uphill (not steep at all) the car's speed goes down fast.
Also, I guy that I know has a 99 oldsmobile Baravda (V-6) with the same problem. The only responds he gets is higher RPM no mater how fast or how gradually he accelerates.
The pre-owner of the car has one of those 30$ high flow air filters installed. I was thinkin about getting one of those 200$ cold air intakes. Would that may be solve the problem a little bit?
thanks for readin

Auto or standard? and how many miles? Could be a slipping clutch or weak automatic trans. Maybe your e brake is partly stuck on. I`m sure a cold air intake would do very little to help except maybe make the car lighter by $200 missing out of your pocket

that is tough to comprehend what concern you're describing, yet once you recommend the pedal itself does not pass easily, then you in basic terms could desire to verify the mechanical linkage under the hood. The throttle cable may well be kinked or misrouted someplace.

yeah I was going to say clutch but someone did already. air filters etc won't make a difference if the problem is between the engine and the wheels.
