Try the bare minimum set up. NO HDD, FDD and CD drive; just 1 stick RAM. This set up should be able to POST and open BIOS menu. If OK, reconnect devices one at a time. The device that will bring back the problem is defective.

If nothing happens, power OFF then remove RAM. Power ON. You should hear the endless beep due to memory error. If NO beeps, motherboard or processor could be dead.

Are you sure you are getting power? Do the fans spin up? Could you have accidentally hit the rocker switch on the power supply? Any cables/wires you could have bumped loose? Does the computer actually post, any beeps at all? Just swapping the hdd should not affect post, you should still get you start-up screens just no Windows.

Wel, it is undemanding, as there is not any application to place in merely for the tricky-power (till it incredibly is a SATA sometimes) take out the previous tricky-disk (broken one), place the hot one and screw or restoration it. rewire and connect it. whilst your laptop boots, press Del to bypass to BIOS setup and enable the BIOS discover/know your new tricky-power (verify the BIOS menu for the alternative). After that set Boot configuration interior the BIOS, and then keep settings and go out. place working gadget CD/DVD contained in thechronic and boot and reinstall OS. (Incase of a SATAchronic in some OS you are able to could desire to install the SATA driving force on the commencing up of the OS set up)

is also unfortunately possible that you were not properly grounded when you did this work and accidently brushed up against something that hates static electricity -- and that something is now dead.

CPUs hate static E. Some of the chips on your mobo might as well.

try everything else first.

make sure your cpu is connnected firmly to its socket. double check all your connections. something may have come loose when you put in the new hard drive.
