Mankind has not changed, technology and gossip lines have changed. read your bible, you will see incest, rape, murder, homosextuality ect... its just now that we have such advance technology, and profit driven media, we hear about it more often, I.E. you hear about a murder on your home t.v. that happened in tabet ( example)

I often wonder myself.
I think its was just the breakdown of order in society as a whole that started during the 60s and 70s. This had its good and bad points. But also- these factors don't help-
Parents in the last 20 years have lost the ability to be diplomatic and objective when it comes to their own kids. Their kids 'can do no wrong', if their is an accusation made they don't even consider THEIR child would do THAT? - never! instead of objectively looking at them and being an authoritarian, and disciplining them. Even teachers get a filthy rap off of parents who can't deal with the fact that their 'little angel' isn't the next Mozart or Einstein.
I think people used to be more content and modest and new how to see through the bullshit and give their kids the discipline they need, they had a greater respect for adults as a result. So you see, now that parents of this age are living in fantasy land and are trying to be friends with their kids (bad idea) rather than parents, letting them live at home WAY too long and not enabling their opffspring to learn to fend for themselves in ANY way (to satisfy their own insecurities)- the kids are running wild, have no respect for anyone, earning a living etc etc etc. No morals etc.
I was born in 76, but my parents were old school. ANd therefore I got to see the difference between how I turned out and the kids of the 'cool' parents turned out......
WAKE UP PARENTS. Kids are primarily a product of what you feed them (metaphorically) Your 10 year old DOESN'T need a bloody mobile phone, and yes, if they get in trouble sometimes it IS indeed their fault- making them face responsibility for this and to be self reliant is a GOOD thing.

Everything in this world seems a bit out of control right now. I work with a mostly student population and they give me a lot of hope they are bright, energetic and motivated. I am more than a little jaded , very worried and not at all confident about the future. Hmmmm, but these younger people give me a sense of hope. Follow your dreams and try to make things better one day or one dream at a time. You have every right to feel angry, scared or confused . It is what you do with these feelings that matters. PLEASE make a difference.!!!

What are your examples of corruption and morality going down the drain? Statements along the lines of "kids these days..." seems so cliche that I can't help but question it. Look at the hippys of the 1960's -- "free love," LSD, Hell's Angels, etc., and it's no different today than it was then.

1972 born here.
From a generation with parents who partied to much in the 60's, had little or disregard for marriage and family once they had their own (problem with spouse? leave em was the motto.) with no family role model to base on, no wonder we are screwed up today.
Growing up in the 70's and 80's all the "role models" turned out to be screwy. We got Regan the spender in office, Michael Jackson as someone for us kids to emulate, the Bakers preaching to us while stealing our trust funds, why should we not be corrupt?

The fact that we're so up our own asses about covering up history to not offend someone about what happened to their ancestors that we forget our heritage. Also, we spend more time in our lives trying to achieve pleasure than meaning. Sex, entertainment, money, a nicer car, a big house, a TV. It's all just pleasure. Meaning is doing something that gets you remembered, by your friends, your family, your children, or the whole world. You only have to touch a life in a positive way, but people are too up their own asses to consider anyone else.

well....just to remind you that slavery was committed for people much older than that, World War I and 2 it is another clear example. So there is everything in every single generation is just that as we grow up we become more aware of all the bad and crazy things going on in this time.

A fish rots from the head down.Culture (our own) is not determined by adherence to social norms anymore and in a sense it never was. Social norms are determined by groups of social engineers who manipulate the economy and hypnotize the masses via the medium ( media) of fear mongery. The decadence is real. Our primary matrix is dissolving and we're scared to death to touch the controls.

I've thought the same thing myself for a long time. I asked a teenager "whaz-up" with all the stealing, WHY do so many teenagers steal, and she told me it's like a "fad", that it's cool to steal ! When we were teenagers, remember that old saying....Don't trust anyone over 30 ? Now, it's don't trust anyone UNDER 30 !

Shut up before you wear out your pee wee teen age brain.
Go to your room and read your bible. Make sure you keep pretending the black man wrote it.
You don't get any soul food tonight since you've been a naughty little girl.
