Buy some eye drops and flush your eyes constantly with eye drops. This MIGHT (and I mean MIGHT) flush out the infection enough so that your body can naturally fight against the bacteria. However, pink eye is nothing to sneeze at. If I had an infection in my eye, I would want that fixed immediately. What if that infection cause me to loose my vision? Would it be worth it?

Go to the pharmacy and get some Boric Acid. You have to ask the pharmacist for it. Don't lose your mind over the word acid. It will not eat your eye out. Boil some water and dissolve some of the powder in the boiling water (put the water in a cup). After it cools, take cotton balls and wipe your eyes out. Do them both. I cured my son's boot camp buddies of pink eye this way. My mom used it on us when we were little. It works the best.

Eye infections are serious. I'm a "health nut", too and not too many people really love to take drugs, but the treatment for pinkeye is just an antibiotic eye drop- nothing oral. SO, suck it up and get thee to a Dr.
PS If your eye/eyes are "glued" shut in the morning and they burn, you can bet you've got pinkeye
Use a warm washcloth to "unstick" them and call the Doc

call your MD. then use the eye med as ordered..wash your eye with warm water with a clean corner of the washcloth..use a new corner each time you wash it..then throw into the laundry, same with the towel..change your pillowcase every day..keep your hands away from your eye..pink eye is highly contagious..stay home from school/work until it is not draining..you only have 2 eyes..take care of them.

try some luke warm (NOT HOT) black tea or chrysanthemum to wash the eye out - this may relive some of the pain - and don't rub the eye with dirty hands - this will make it worse also
