If Griese starts, or is at least brought in before it's too late, we'll have a shot at it. Lovie needs to break his obsession with Grossman.

I'd be inclined to say no unless Grossman can prove that he can be more consistant as a QB and cut down on the INTs, those killed him in the big game.

Indy's defense came up big in the post-season, but your top defenses of last year aside from Chicago came with the other AFC divisional winners in New England, San Diego, and the number defense Baltimore. I don't think the Bears would have beaten the Chargers, Pats, or the Ravens had the Colts not won the AFC championship.

Indy's strength was Peyton's passing game, the Colts where precise in the passing game which fueled the running game and controlled time of possesion. San Diego's strength was the running attack which fueled a decent Phillip Rivers at QB and controlled time of possesion.

Baltimore's strength was defense, defense, defense. Aside from the Tennesee game where Ray Lewis was out, the Ravens did not allow a 100 yard rusher, and last year against the Ravens Peyton and LT combined for 0 TDs against Baltimore, the top RB from last season AND the top QB from last season. The defense also contributed to time of possesion going to the Ravens.

It greatly helped a veteran QB Steve McNair who has a case for Canton to lift some confidence into a team that went on to a 13-3 record after finishing last place in the AFC North just a season earlier.

As for New England I think you know what they are capable of. They aren't always the flashiest team, but they are solid in all aspects and Tom Brady has a knack for winning the big game. You know when your team plays the Patriots that they have to respect both the run and the pass, with Maroney and Brady. The Patriots as a result also control time of possesion.

Going into this season, you are going to see the top teams in the AFC control time of possesion again. Make too many mistakes against the better teams of the league, and they will take the clock away as well as hanging that quick 6 points to their lead.

So I would say that unless the Bears get sharper on their passing game for one thing, they may not even make the big dance let alone win one. It's not out of the relm of possibility for the Bears to win the superbowl, but IMO of what I saw of them in the regular and post season, I don't like their chances. Their defense can't be as effective when it's out on the field longer than it should be.

They should be contenders. This is pre-season folks. People need to get off Rex's back. He has real talents and given time can be a major contributor. The Bears have had about 25 quarterbacks since Brett Favre started for Green Bay—they give up too soon. Terry Bradshaw had worse stats for several years when he began, and Rex has better beginning stats than the Bronco's QB when he started..

Are you kidding? The Saints are going to win the NFC this year. Then they will get beat by the Colts.

Everybody watch the season opener.... The Super Bowl is going to be a rematch: Colts over Saints.

I would put money down on the fact that Rex Grossman is going to surprise the league this year and come out slinging that rock like never before. I seriously just have one of those gut feelings about him this season.

not a chance. I dont think the bears defense can bail grossman out this year. not when he's still throwing INTs and Fumbling the ball as much as he is.

Bears are excellent, but if the Patriots stay healthy, they are the team.

I doubt it... Will make it to playoffs but not all the way
Patriots will win it all (I don't like the Pats but am pretty sure they will win)
