This may sound silly but im curious. If a woman ovulates close to the end of the sperms life cycle is there a risk of complications during or after pregnancy? I ask this because the sperm are starting to die and I would think are not as healthy as fresh ones.

The trick is to ensure that there is always a supply of fresh ones. The healthier wigglers will win out every time. Keep pluggin' away, as it were.

Good question, however, the sperm that makes it to the egg at any stage is/are the most active/healthy sperm. The sperm that are not up to the task or are not healthy die out long before surviving the 24-48 hr treck to the fallopian tube to begin with. Most abnormalities have to do with chromosome defects and usually these result in miscarriages.

no, if there is still live ones she will still get pregnant though. Nothing happens when sperm is in there and dies any other time, other wise alot of people would have complications. People have sex while there pregnant and they don't have complications.
