*OMG she just asked a question why are you ppl attacking her wardrobe and her budget. You ppl should be ashamed especially when you go on about designer clothing is better quality. That must mean you care about your appearance, so why do you think this girl doesn't just because she doesn't wear designer clothing. *
ANYWAY some people buy designer clothing because they want to spend the money or because they want to own the "tag". I buy whatever I like. If its brand name and I like it than I buy it, if its brand name and I think it a crime to corture I won't buy just because of the name. The best way to shop is to have a max price on items of clothing. My list is:
Shirts - $25 or less
Jeans - $30 or less I love Levis, not exactly Paris premier, but voted top best fitted jeans by many top fashion mags season after season. If you find a jean outlet store you'll be in luck. You can buy your everyday jeans here, and then you'll be able to turn an splurge on a pair of Diesels or Roca Wears.
Dresses- $100 or less (unless 4 a special occasion)
Shoes - $150 or less
Purses - $150 or less
Sunglasses - $20 or less
Jackets/coats- $150 or less
I cheat on my budget almost everytime I shop (especially on shoes), but the golden rule to shopping for me is know when its worth it. A 29.99 shirt from AE compered to the 15.99 shirt at Macy's isnt worth it unless you got the PERFECT outfit for it or your dying for the AE. The 100.00 coach bag or 200.00 Sherif bag is totally worth it lol because a purse is something you can use more than a couple of times and it may go with most outfits. If you find your self shopping all brand names than you are definately one of those "brand" shoppers who aren't confident enough to wear something that isn't blazing a "tag".
Lol I wrote a lot, but wardrobe is very important to a women. Good luck with your wardrobe!

Well, people who have designer clothes(or the real ones anyway), have the money for it. So if they buy expensive stuff, they can show off how much money they have.
Plus, most designer clothes are apart of the latest fashion, so if one wears it, they look like they have good fashion sense.
Sometimes, designer stuff is just better to some people. And most designer stuff is in MUCH better quality and is made with VERY good material(s), which is probably why they're so expensive.

People, like me, wear designer beacause it's good quality and good fabric. Here. It's Christmas and U got 2 boxes of clothes.you could only take 1. 1 was from Giorgio Armani, the other was from Walmart. Which one would u pick? It's like, you buy something from target, you can't shake off the fact ur wearing mossimo everyone else is wearing Ralph Lauren and Dior. When I go school shopping, I shop at vineyard vines, Abercrombie, Hollister, saks, Bloomingdales, lord and Taylor, and Neiman Marcus.

I completely agree with you! It is a very good question that I have been asking for like ever!
I think it is mostly a status symbol. It says "yeah, I'm rich enough to afford this."
Honestly, I think that funky, thrifty clothes are cuter. Not some boring leather coat.
I think Target and Kohls are great and have awesome clothes! I like to shop at nicer places like F21 sometimes too. But, the cheaper, the better!
It just goes to show how much people will pay to be popular. [not in an offensive way]
Hope I helped!

I'm not the type of person to wear Designer clothes but usually the reason why they wear designer clothes is because of the QUALITY.
But Tyra Banks dubbed herself the QUEEN OF CHEAP so don't worry about designers and stuff like that.
Just as long as you are happy with the clothes you have, you'll be just fine.

Because designer clothes are beautiful and well-made and high-end; you're probably just saying that because you've never owned anything above 10 bucks.
Designer jeans have hand-embossed pockets and they're dyed and distressed by hand and the tailoring is amazing, if you choose the right brand they can make you look 10 pounds thinner and in better shape and they're made to comfortably fit the human form and always fit perfectly and make the wearer look stunning. Have you ever even been to a Saks? Compare THOSE jeans to ones at Target.
And the tops are beautiful, with hand-appliques and rosettes and tiny intricate detailing, they're works of art.
And many of the jackets could last you for YEARS as well as the jewelery, my aunt has a beautiful watch for a decade, it's Cartier. Every thing by a designer is a work of art, how dare you say that they're a waste. Did you know a Hermes Kelly hand bag uses hand-embossed and distressed alligator and can take a team of people working ten hours a day, two weeks to complete. Many of these pieces are more intricate than art in a muesam; and they're better because those who CAN afford them wear them.
After I bought my self my first expensive Louis Vuitton purse in Paris for $1500 I have never been the same. And I have a pair of beautifully made, hand-crafted $400 jeans that fit me perfectly and are the comfiest things in the world, they feel like cashmere. :D I'm just so lucky that my buisness is doing do well that I can buy them. And I'm 12, if you want designer clothes find a way to make money; I invest in the stockmarket, tutor, design jewlery for my aunt's collection which is sold at Fred Segal, and I give out loans and get paid back with interest, my dad calls me his little CEO.

Because they have amazingg quality and they are like works of art!! Everything designers make is so beautiful, in its own way. Designers take a lot of time to design/make their clothes and they aren't just sewn together in a factory in china, they are made in places like Italy.

In my opinion, there is a difference in quality. And some times it's worth the cost to get the quality.
