i love middle names...
1. it provide more emphasis when yelling or when kids are in trouble...
2. if the child does not like their first name than they can go by their middle name
3. if someone else in the family has the same first and last name than the middle name can help distinguish them from each other.

Good idea, its a normal thing for most people so its not wierd. I know one person who wished they had a middle name so they could get the 3 initial monagram on things. I think its a good idea if you like nontraditional names like Apple and you give the child a middle name that is traditional like Marie. Then the child can have a choice later in life of which name to go by if she does not like her first name. I think it also helps seperate people with the same name... Michael James Smith and Michael Allen Smith. I just never considered going without a middle name for any of my kids. Ive heard of some people just having an initial for their middle name and thats kinda cool too.

I think a middle name is a great idea as it provides less confusion between you and another family member or another person with the same first and surname. It also provides an opportunity to honor someone while still using a favorite or trendy name.
Out of my extended family that meets for regular family reunions, there are 5 Michaels, 2 Marks, 4 Marys a couple of Anns and even 3 Georges. Nobody has the same middle name. :)

It is a great thing to have a middle name. Usually people name it after someone they love, trust, or honor.
Although some just think it's cute and go whatever flows with the first name.

I think it's a good idea. As a matter of fact I love middle names so much; when I finally have children they're going to have 2 middle names.
If it's a girl: Ayla Gene Marie/ Ayla Gene-Marie
If it's a boy: Joseph Robert Leroy/ Joseph Robert-Leroy

I don't think it is a bad idea to have a middle name. It depends on the name and the reason your mother chose that particular name. My middle Name is Marilyn. I was named after my mother's best friends daughter. Her name was Marilyn Joanne and mine is Joanne Marilyn. My husband's name is Ronald Kenneth. Kenneth is his dad's name. His brother's name is Gerald Lloyd. He is named Lloyd after his mother's only brother.

good- you might not like ur 1st one and would like to go by another, and it makes other relatives feel important if you use their name and it creates a family bond cause thats where most middle names come from. its also less boring.

it's good, it's always let me know my mom wasn't messin' around when she was yelling at me
"MALLORY JEAN {last name____} YOU COME DOWN HERE AND PICK UP YOUR MESS!!"
I never questioned that, down the stairs picking up in a second flat haha
Also, Idk about you, but I like many names and unless I nonstop baby make now til I'l 40 I will not have enough kids to use my favorites.
