Absolutely!! It has been years, but I have four grown children and I stayed home with all of them when they were babies. The one regret I have is I got nothing paid into my pension fund for that time and when I did go back to work full time, I got no credit for all that time I stayed home and worked harder than I ever did at "work"!

According to salary.com:
"Stay-at-home mothers wear many hats. They're the family CEO, the day care provider, accountant, chauffeur, counselor, chef, nurse, laundress, entertainer, personal stylist, and educator. Based on a 90-hour work week, Salary.com has estimated that a fair wage for the typical stay-at-home mom would be well over $90,000 for executing all of her daily tasks. Factor in overtime, and the appropriate salary takes a leap of around $25,000."
I'm a stay at home mom also, I think you should be proud of yourself for how hard you work everyday!

I think it's a job, but working mothers have it harder. They have to do the work of a housewife after they put in 8 hours. I think working mothers deserve a medal or something. I couldn't be either. Raising kids is tough no matter what.

But of coarse. I have seen many work harder than some men and other women that do have jobs, so why would it not be a job!
