Question for sewing/tailoring experts: What is the best and neatest way to reduce the size of the 'flare' on a pair of bell-bottom trousers?

if you have a machine no problem . no machine it will not look good.put them on inside out, with straight pins safety pins will work. pin the amount of hem you want carefully take the pants off. turn inside out. put back on you may get poked by a pin be careful. is this enough? if you like results, then start around the knee area start sewing from the outside to where your pins are remember you must do this down both sides of one pant leg.

I take mine to the tailor to have it done. It only costs eight dollars, and to me it's worth it because I might screw it up.
