The most strict teacher I ever had was my ROTC Sergeant Major Devine. I still respect him to this day as he was one man who could make you learn by keeping you within the rules, but he never made you feel stupid for asking questions.

Oh man. Mrs. Frances Passmore, may she rest in the peace we never let her have. She was incredibly strict, but she taught us more than all the buddy-buddy teachers we had before or after. She was ALSO willing to bend a little for students who held up their end of the deal. (I always got to sit by the library, and she never *noticed* I was reading a library book instead of a text book, if my work was done. I loved that old witch.

My fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Forence, was very strict, but I really liked her, because I'm the kinda person who likes order, and the grade before there was like no order at all. She was a good teacher, wish all were like that, well maybe not all, once in a while a goof off year would be nice. But I'm homeschooled now, my mom's not very strict. ;)

I'm SO glad you asked this. There was this teacher when I was in 10 grade. Most of the kids disliked her INTENSELY. I really wanted to take the class (mostly because my boyfriend was in the class) so I signed up and expected to hate, but indure the teacher. She was very strict, but what I came to find out about her was that she was very fair. If you followed the rules, there was nothing to worry about. Now 25 years later, I remember Mrs. Richert as being one of my top 5 favorite teachers EVER.
What I know about you, White, is that you are loving and compassionate and they will come to love you just as your last class did. Hang in there, kiddo, it's just the first week.

I did.. in high school.. English. He's a bit of a computer geek so it's likely he'll read this.
He wasn't much liked... except by the kids who actually took his class... I mean he was strict.. he expected the best from us.. and didn't tolerate anything less... usually in the end he got it. Once we clued in that he was tough but not tyrannical... his classes became kind of fun. A lot of laughter... a lot of creativity.. and a lot of learning.
He knows who he is.
