my fiance and i are returning from Iraq in November for a couple of weeks and then we have to go back to Iraq. Where is a place that we could get away too that is cozy and romantic where we can spend some quality time? If we gotta get on a plane to fly there, we will. It has to be stateside because we have no passports yet. We are leaving from Savannah, Georgia. If you have specific hotels or spots, please share!!!

I know this may be hard to believe but I like Las Vegas for quick weekends, its only a 2 hour flight for us, not sure what it would be like from Georgia. I like to get a nice big suite with a living room, spa bathtub, huge windows and a fantastic view for a getaway. My husband and I will just hole up in the room being romantic. This includes bubble baths and room service of course. When you feel like you want to stretch your legs outside of the room there is just endless places to see and things to do. The food is great all over the place too.

We stayed at the MGM Grand Celebrity Spa Suite last month for my birthday and we just loved it.

Good luck on your adventures.

Myrtle Beach or HIlton Head SC is right up the road from Savannah & pretty easy to get to. There is the Great Smoky Mountains around Gatlinburg, TN, Cherokee, NC, or Asheville, NC. Did my honeymoon at Captain's Quarters in Myrtle Beach, took a vacation & camped at KOA in Cherokee, NC. Good luck!!

Buffalo, New York/ Niagara Falls- explore Niagara Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and Canada, with cosmopolitan Toronto, glitzy resorts, and beautiful spas and golfing. Buffalo offers stunning architecture, the world famous Albright-Knoz Gallery, a charming parks system, and wonderful boutiques on funky Elmwood Avenue. There is plenty of history with the Erie Canal and Fort Niagara, originally settled by French trappers. A lovely theater and concert series. The food is amazing- home of the buffalo (we call them chicken) wing.

Try The Mansion on Delaware Avenue with free butler and chaffeur service. http://www.mansionondelaware.com/
The Hyatt
or Roycroft Inn in East Aurora, a rural arts and crafts community.
