chemical hydrometer?

i have a chemical hydrometer
heres the question
if i use it once. will i be able to use it again?
the chemical hydrometer has like little glue looking stuff at the bottom of it with like pebbles. its shaped lke a thermometer

it sounds to me like you have a hydrometer that floats in the water to measure the specific gravity of the water. This style of hydrometer is good of constant use or as many uses as you wish unless of course you break it. I have a few around more than 20 years old that still give very accurate readings.
