Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez is considered one of the best defensive catchers ever to play the game of baseball. Even though not many fans like him, I still think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. This player has over 2467 hits, 287 homers, 1170 RBI's and a career .303 hitter. He is surely going into the Hall of Fame, with the Texas Rangers. WOW, I was amazed to see his numbers when I answered this question.

Yes, hes a lock for the Hall. I would also think the Rangers, but I'm not clear on how much of a say that the individual has as to which team he becomes associated with once inducted. If I'm not mistaken, Wade Boggs wanted to go in as a Devil Ray, but that request was denied. Nevertheless, if that story IS true, its hardly on par with I-Rods decision to go in as either a Tiger or a Ranger. I would think that either choice would be acceptable. Granted, he has played the bulk of his career with Texas, and probably had his best seasons there; nevertheless, hes also had good years with Detroit, and his career isn't over yet; he might have a few more good seasons to add to his resume' as a Detroit Tiger.

Pudge is a lock to be in the Hall. Not only is he a great hitter, as barhoom illustrated, but arguably (some say Johnny Bench) the best defensive backstop of all time. His 12 Gold Gloves ranks him first all time among catchers and his career mark of throwing out 48% of would be basestealers is stellar. He has been consistently outstanding both offensively and defensively for 17 seasons and should go into Cooperstown as a Texas Ranger.

Yes, I think with the Rangers. that's when he was at his best, but if he wins a World Series with the Tigers, all bets are off.
