any updates for it.. or any suggestions? ive tried reinstalling it, and looking for updates! what can i do

Check if it is properly detected in BIOS menu. If not, check jumper settings and the connectors.
If detected, it should work using Window's driver. Then use a burning software like Nero or Roxio and Power DVD for movies.

go to start - control panel - system - hardware - device manager
look for ! or x marks delete them then reboot your computer
