Because they're not really anxious to start ruling over their own planets. They're rather serve here a while longer, first. :)

With your line of thinking, Chelsea Clinton should be over in Iraq right now in uniform since her momma voted for the war.
The military doesn't have a draft, therefore, anyone in the military joined willingly. If Mitt's sons want to join, they are free to do so.
Just like you, you are free to join, or free not to join, everyone has that choice, just like Mitt's sons.

Why don't you?? Why doesn't Chelsea Clinton her MOMMY voted for the war?? Military service is volunteer, unlike most countries were most males have to serve at least 2 years or Military is completely Voluntary. I made the choice of my own free will to join and proud that I served my country.

They have to write, "The Five Brothers," blog. Isn't that enough? ;-)

Said Daddy Mitt recently: “It’s remarkable how we can show our support for our nation, and one of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected, because they think I’d be a great president. My son, Josh, bought the family Winnebago and has visited 99 counties, most of them with his three kids and his wife. And I respect that and respect all of those in the way they serve this great country.”

Blah, blah, blah. Now you know why Massachusetts didn't want him for a second term as Governor.

P.S. I'm a registered Republican.

They don't because this is a free country and they are free to make that choice. The people who do make that choice fight so that other are not forced to. This chickenhawk argument defies logic. People who do not enlist have their own reasons for doing so, and they have every right not to. That's what those who do enlist fight for--the freedom to make those decisions, and so that not everyone has to fight.

Let's take this argument to it's logical conclusion. Are you against crime? Then why aren't you in law enforcement? Why haven't you become a police officer? Are you against world hunger? Why aren't you in the peace corps? Are you concerned about the homeless? Why don't you invite someone to live with you? See, you can apply this to a myriad of things that people are for or against, and then accuse them of being hypocritical for not actively participating in the cause.

Why doesn't every child of a Democratic Senator who voted for this war do the same?

Answer: Simple, they are people just like you and I, and if we aren't serving, they don't have to serve either. It's an all-volunteer army. Politicians voted on the war, and everyone in Iraq is there because they willingly joined the service.

What about Chelsea Clinton? Or Al Gore Jr? When are you signing up? Military service is voluntary.

If they signed up everyone would say its for political purposes. Military service is not for everyone - that is why its a voluntary service. They are on the campaign trail - I think that is what bothers liberals the most.

Romney said his sons were serving their country by helping him campaign!

I think if you are willing to send other people's kids into harms way, you should be prepared to send your own.

A very comfortable life makes you a lot less willing to put it on the line. They will sqawk all they want for war, but will run like chickens when their safety is involved.
