My question is Why ruin a car's looks with a giant wing on the back, and if you've done it do you actually belive adding weight to your car will improve its speed. As I know a wing of that size is only effective at speeds above 190mph. Not to mention its putting weight on the rear for RWD not FWD bumper cars

These ugly wings are for looks only, like you said these wings would only add downforce at speeds of 180 mph and above, like nascar.... so putting a big ugly wing on an 88 HP Honda is just for looks, and for the worst looks that is....... Thumbs down!!!!!

One of those silly things that is really just cosmetic in nature and has no function what-so-ever.

I dressed out a VW Jetta many years ago with side skirts and front air-dam and rear window louvers and a whale tail on the rear trunk and had a large light bar that lit up when you turn on the parking lights that said, "JETTA". At the time I was around 21 years old and it looked "cool". There were no other Jetta's around like it and people just were not interested in spending money on these cosmetic add on's.

Some people don't ever grow up and most can't afford a "cool" car until they are having their mid-life crisis in their 40's and 50's and then they look dumb driving around in a kids car.

It's all just harmless fun and as PT Barnum said, "A sucker is born every minute." Some people will trade in a perfectly good car that is only a year or two old just so they can have the exact same car but with the big dumb wing on the back.

I love the older model cars, now, and don't care to have anything like I once drove when I was a big dumb kid.

Good Luck!

Sounds more like a statement than a question.

But it sounds like something I would say, so I thought I'd comment.

Being the practical type (and a recycled hippie), I've always eschewed pretention. But life is too short to be critical of things that give other people joy.

If my neighbor bought the latest greatest swoopy winged flying monkey, I'd just share his enthusiasm about having the cat's pajamas and give the criticism a rest.

When I a little boy I often drew pictures of cars with overstated accessories, I was young. Ime not gonna put one on my car now, but if i had one of them spoilers sitting in my garage i might "mock" it up on my car and take a pic just for giggles. Live and let live I say.
