**Yes, open the folder with your music from your desktop, and copy (or move) them to the USB flash drive, you may want to create a new folder to keep your music files separate for easier transfer (you may have to goto "My Computer", or a window may pop-up, select view folders) and "Safely Remove" it (The icon on the task bar, right-click it and find your device). After it has been safely removed, unplug your flash drive from your desktop and plug it into your laptop. Again follow the process to gain access to your flash drive, navigate to your folder containing your files, hold crtl + a to select all of them, then crtl + c to copy them (or crtl + x if you do not want the files left on your flash drive) (If you want to copy the entire folder right-click on the folder icon and click copy if you want the folder left on your flash drive and cut if you wish to remove your folder from your flash drive). Open "My Computer" from Start again and navigate to where you would like to put your music. Once to a desired folder type, crtl + v to paste your files into the folder on your laptop. Be sure NOT to copy the music files to anyones computer but your own, this is illegal and is copyright infringement carrying a very heavy fine. There you go, that's it your music files are now on your laptop ( you can follow this method to move almost any file pictures, videos, and installers for your programs).
**What I Recommend, are just that Recommendations, do anything I say at your own Risk.**

Assuming that your new laptop has fast enough usb ports. Its new so it probably has 2.0 and will run your usb drive with no problems.

you shouldn't have no problems,if your flash drive doesn't have the space for all of your music you can download it a little at a time until you get all of your music on the laptop
