I am answering this question with the understanding that you both are just acquaintances (not b/f-g/f). You see her only at the gym and not socially.

There is the possibility that the two of you annoy each other at times. Therefore you both say things that are mean. However, both of you would rather not have hard feelings toward each other, being that you will be seeing each other at the gym all the time. Hence the constant apologizing after behaving mean to one another.

Or it could be that the two of you do have a certain attraction to each other and have ambivalent feelings, for one another.
Only you can can determine which of my opinions applies to you.

If you would like to take your relationship to a more amicable level and find out if she would too. I would suggest that you ask her out for a coffee, pizza, etc.., and see her response. You will then have the opportunity to talk things out and come to an understanding to have a more pleasant attitude towards each other. For sure this way you will be able to determine what to make out of her behavior.

Life goes on, make no assumptions.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.
