desi babe - Im just asking a question/sharing the video, not making any statements.
This has nothing to do with me at all. I dont live in Calgary and I dont have problems getting into bars. If the bars around here excluded black people they would be empty.

I will say this - notice how the bouncers never said you can't come in because you are black. is this who they do it?

I would need more information to make a determination. I realize that they went to a few different clubs, which is what almost made me conclude that racism is the culprit. But I try not to make assumptions and, therefore, gave it some more thought. The fact that they're black isn't enough for me to say, without a doubt, that they experienced racism. Is it possible that they are known by the local clubs as trouble makers? Is it possible that they could have been ostracized from the "club community", or the majority of it, for any reason whatsoever (other than for race related reasons)? I'm just not aware of enough details to deduce that the situation involved racial discrimination. (And yes, I would definitely say the same if the men were white and denied entry into "black clubs".)
One of the occurances that caused me to further question the accusation is the fact that one bouncer (the one who spoke into his microphone) took so long to deny the men entry. It would have been just as easy for him to quickly give them reasons for denial as it was for the bouncers at other clubs. And why wasn't whatever he said in his microphone aired? If, by chance, he was speaking too quietly in order for the microphones that the men were wearing to pick up what he said then the men could have easily repeated what was said. I'm not denying the possibility of racism. I'm simply not comfortable with coming to any sort of conclusion based upon such limited information.
Were any blacks granted entry to any of those clubs at any point that night (or during previous nights)? Were any whites denied entry for the same reasons as were given to the black men? In my opinion, this is information that any rational person would want to know before coming remotely close to making any sort of judgment. What I would like to see is more clubs and more subjects (both whites and blacks- dressed in the same fashion, of the same age group, having similar or the same mannerisms, etc...) and for the study to be performed over a great deal more time than just one single night.
As I said, I am NOT denying the possibility of racism. But I don't think it benefits anyone to make assumptions. Quite the opposite. Making assumptions, and riling people up over a situation that accompanies so little information, only serves to divert attention away from situations which we KNOW for a fact involve racism.
"I will say this - notice how the bouncers never said you can't come in because you are black." ----That's a common thing for racists to do when there are witnesses.

Yeah that is definately racism. It was so ridiculous who they tried to find anything wrong with the 3 guys just so they will walk away and think that they were not dressed and not of the right age. The one with the bouncer getting physical was especially. Sucks that people still have to go through that in this day and age. Racism, generalization, and stereotyping will never go away, not with people like that.

Stop being so focused on racists. Worry about making yourself better and stop worrying about what others think of you.
