It's such an amazingly simple rule-- had you only listened to it ONCE, you never would have had to ask again for any other number. Move the damn % two spaces to the left and turn it to a decimal point. But NNNOOOooooo-- that's too much like work huh? You'd rather just sit there drooling like a slack-jawed yit-nit and ask every time the question rears its head on a homework assignment: "What is 16% as a decimal? What is 17% as a decimal? What is 18% as a decimal? What is 19% as a decimal?...."

Good luck when the real world happens one day.

Hi,
To convert a percent to a decimal equivalent, move the decimal point two places to the left. In a number such as 16 the decimal point is understood to be to the right of the 6, so to convert to a decimal do this:

---1------6
^------- ^one place
2 places
So, we have .16

Hope this helps.

.16 Start at one and count over to the six (two spaces) that is how many spots behind the decimal point the 6 on the 16 should be

Its 0.16
Whenever you want to change a % to a decimal you just have to divide by 100 or just move the dot two places to to the left.

Ex.

16%=16.
16./100=0.16
0.16 = 16%
