Please be more specific about your concerns. How does the behaviour of the person differ from his or her words? The people who are saying "actions speak louder than words" and variations thereof are all correct, but I suspect that your issues are a bit more complicated than that.

For example, do you feel taken for granted? In any relationship, there is healthy taking for granted and unhealthy taking for granted.

My wife can (and does) take for granted that I will have an income, and provide for my family to the best of my ability. She takes for granted that I will love her and only her. She takes for granted that I will concern myself with the welfare our our daughter, and that I always will.

That is all healthy, good stuff. I have corresponding expectations of her and she does not disappoint me in that regard.

Unhealthy taking for granted is such things as expecting gratutitous forgiveness when you've been a swine, making disloyal or insulting comments to others, and so on.

Possibilities (in your case, based upon what little you have told us) range all the way from there being no intended disrespect and you have low self-esteem, to maybe it's time to end the relationship.

Well the obvious answer would be that they don't respect you. However they may not know what your expectations are. Be clear about what showing respect is to you. List specific this the person can do to show you respect.

It's obvious here, what you see is what you get. A person actions speaks louder than any words they can say.

Saying you respect someone and never showing that, means that you don't respect that person!!!

Actually it is more complicated than that, some people do not know what respect is, other people know what it is say they feel it but really don't mean it. then some other people jsut say it to get out of a situation knowing full well they don't mean to live up to it. Intenional and unintentional, you have to work it out so you will know how to react

obviously if they show you no respect, then that is exactly what they have...no respect.....don't be foolish enough to believe words unless they have some physical backing.

Actions ALWAYS speak louder than words - consider getting out of the relationship and cut your loses before you get hurt worse.
